If you’re a fan of Swiss chocolate, you’re sure to be familiar with Toblerone, which was first brought to market in 1908. Its triangular shape is inspired by the Matterhorn. Pictures of our hotel’s local mountain were added to the packaging for the first time in 1970 and have since become an unmistakeable symbol for Switzerland and our chocolate.
When strolling through Zermatt, you will come across the Inderbinen Well. This is dedicated to our mountain climber Ulrich Inderbinen, who climbed the Matterhorn 371 times, most recently in 1990 at the ripe old age of 90.
Did you know that over 3000 Alpinists climb the Matterhorn every year? Let the Alpinists staying in our hotel in Zermatt entertain you with their incredible stories! And if you hear us talking about the “Hore” in Hotel Perren, we are referring to the Matterhorn in our local dialect.
