You can get to Zermatt conveniently by train in approximately 3 to 3.5 hours from the international airports Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Milan. Zermatt is also the start and end point of the world-famous Glacier Express.
Zermatt is car-free. Private cars are only permitted to travel as far as Täsch (5 km from Zermatt). The Täsch-Zermatt street is closed to public transport. In Täsch, 2,900 parking spaces are available to you in parking garages or in the newly constructed Matterhorn Terminal. Some of the parking garages (e.g. Garage St.Christoph) offer a taxi service to and from Zermatt.
The shuttle trains of the Matterhorn-Gotthard railway also travel between Täsch and Zermatt every 20 minutes. After a 12-minute train journey, you arrive at Zermatt train station – right in the heart of this village at the foot of the Matterhorn. From the station, our porter will pick you up on arrival and drop you back in time for your train when you depart. If you travel from Täsch by taxi, our porter will be pleased to pick you up from the taxi rank at the entrance to the village.
